The BLUEgrass Runners Club is a non-profit organization based in Lexington, Kentucky, and devoted to promoting fitness, fellowship and fun for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.
Our members range from milers to marathoners; walkers to sprinters; teenagers to veterans. You can connect with other runners and walkers through our weekly Club runs and social events.
You can also become more involved in the community by volunteering for some of the many races and other charitable functions sponsored by the Club throughout the year.
November through March the club runs start at 4:00 PM from John’s Run Walk Shop. The winter course is 5.25 miles total (2.625 miles out then 2.625 miles back).
Participants can run/walk the entire course or just part of it.
If you're interested in running a marathon or half-marathon to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, contact Martin Bess at 859-361-0071 for more information. He can put you on the right track to successfully complete your first event or achieve a PR in your next one through Team-In-Training.
You can learn about Foody's Philosophy for living well and contact member Terry Foody about speaking to your club or organization on topics like good nutrition, injury prevention, cardiovascular fitness, and more by clicking here.

Thanks to everyone who came out to run in the 24th annual Thoroughbred Classic 5K. Online race results are available for the 5K Race and the 1-Mile Run.
Have you ever wondered what goes into organizing a road race? Have you wanted to see what goes on behind the scenes? If the answer is "yes" then consider volunteering to help with the 2008 Thoroughbred Classic 5K to be held on Thanksgiving Day. Just contact one of the club officers (see Contact Us at the top of this page) and/or join the BLUEgrass Runners to receive the club newsletter. This is an excellent way to see another aspect of running and help raise funds for several local charities.
