Here are the Masters award recipients from the combined Kentucky USATF and KTCCCA Awards Banquet in January. Awardees are chosen from masters who participated in USA Track & Field events or KY Track & Cross Country Coaches Association events in 2009. Recommendations from the events’ officials are taken into consideration for the awards.
Male track : Lawrence Finley
Female track: Debra Moore
Female Field: Cindy Smith
Male Field: Gerry Scaringi
Male Cross Country: Stan Clark
Female Cross Country: Roberta Meyer
Congratulations to our awardees for their fine accomplishments and inspiration to us all. Kentucky also conducted two of its own athletes in the Hall of Fame:
Stephanie Hightower (former hurdler), current President of National USATrack & Field
Tyson Gay – internationally ranked sprinter.
Both Ms Hightower and Mr. Gay were present to receive their awards.
We have some great talent in the masters division. Looking forward to honoring more of you.
